The Maven Back Issues

A look back at previous issues of The Maven and the fanzines evolution from scissors, lettraset transfers and glue to Publisher software, from poor dirty photocopies from clapped out industrial sized photocopiers naievely bought from newspaper adds and wedged into a bedroom to cleaner crisper copies from 1 coloured sheet to a few and the 120 odd page issue that virtually bankrupted the whole project for a while, a labour of love where it cost 250% of the cover price to produce and a fortune to mail out !

Between issues of course are the many mail outs of mini-Mavens (actually larger at A4 but mini in that there's a lot fewer pages), flyers, newsletters and album info sheets.

There's much more to come and your patience, support and understanding is much appreciated.

Most of the issues are out of print, they may be reprised in part both here and in special 'Re-hash' issues, looking back I'm not sure they'd be worth reproducing in their entirity, the occasional embarassing item would need ommitting, articles and discographies would be out of date etc but interviews and reviews could be salvaged for posterity.

There are plenty of copies of the last issue available though which will be available via this site along with some of the previous ones which may show signs of wear as they've been trecked around to the merch stalls of Madrid, Bilbao, Paris, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Brussells, Dublin, Leeds and London over the years.
